Russian MP Forecasts Post-War Clashes with Muslim Migrants; Kadyrov Reacts
Recently, Russian State Duma MP Mikhail Matveev has forecast that when the special military operation [Russo-Ukrainian War] ends, clashes with migrants from Central Asia and the Caucasus will begin in Russia. "We are facing a serious clash in a country of two civilizations. They [radical Muslims] are not satisfied with Russia in a secular form, and they are not satisfied with the role of Orthodox civilization. And, of course, all this is very alarming indeed because we see how more and more of our living space in Russia is being reclaimed by them. I think that when the SVO is over, and half a million or more of our guys return from the front, the main clashes like this will begin," Matveev added.
Commenting on Matveev's speech on January 23, Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov said that the most dangerous enemy is the one who sits in the rear. "He is an anonymous, cowardly man and is engaged in bringing division into the ranks of true patriots, trying to divide them by faith or nationality," he noted.
The Chechen leader did not specify which speech he was referring to; according to him, the MP divides Muslims and non-Muslims. "Matveyev is known for initiatives restricting the activities of migrants on Russian territory. It is precisely we, convinced Muslims who preach Islam, who fought the fanatics he mentioned on the territory of the Chechen Republic and put an end to them once and for all by destroying the last underground cell of militants three years ago," Kadyrov added.
He emphasized that Russia is a secular country that allows the practice of Islam, building mosques, and performing namaz. "And we Muslims, living in such a state, are obliged to defend the country. Today, our fighters are serving on an equal footing with representatives of various confessions and nationalities in the special military zone. There, they have a united brotherhood, honest thoughts about their fate, sober views on life... But in the rear, you see, Matveev argues about how after the special military operation [Russo-Ukrainian War] to divide them into non-Muslims and Muslims and get rid of the latter to avoid provocation. It's better to get Matveyev out, and there will be far fewer provocations," the Chechen leader emphasized.
Mikhail Matveyev responded to Ramzan Kadyrov: "Fighting the Shaitans who are infiltrating with the huge migration flow into Russia and trying to radicalize the country is our common cause, in which Russian Muslims are no less interested than we are, in fact even more so."
