The de-facto Defence Ministers of Abkhazia Colonel General Vladimir Anua and the Defense Minister of Syria Lieutenant General Ali Mahmud Abbas signed an agreement between the departments on cooperation in the military field. “In development of the agreements between Presidents Bashar al-Assad and Aslan Bzhania on expanding interstate cooperation, especially in the military field, we signed an agreement with you between our defence departments. The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the military sphere. Anua noted the role of the Syrian army in maintaining statehood, restoring peace, and stability.
