Sergei Shamba: "Abkhazia Receives Security Guarantees Following Putin-Gunba Meeting"

On March 10, Sergei Shamba, the de-facto Acting Foreign Minister of separatist Abkhazia, stated that Sokhumi had received reliable security guarantees following the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the elected de-facto President of Abkhazia, Badra Gunba, on March 5 in Moscow.
Shamba noted that the discussions between the leaders focused on Abkhazia's security, which he emphasized as particularly crucial amid the global struggle to reorganize the world system. He stated that Abkhazia had received assurances based on existing treaties, including the allied treaty, under which Russia is committed to defending Abkhazia in the event of a military threat.
He further mentioned that Russian regions had been directed to implement joint socio-economic development programs with Abkhazia.
