Support from separatist Abkhazia and South Ossetia to Russia over Ukraine
Separatist Abkhazia supports Putin's desire to “de-nazify” Ukraine
In the increasingly complicated international situation, separatist Abkhazia has not betrayed the principles of brotherhood and friendship with Russia according to a statement from the de-facto Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia on the situation around Russia's operation to “de-nazify” Ukraine.
According to the decision of the de-facto President of Abkhazia, the country has recognised the sovereignty of the DPR and LPR and is building respectful and equal relations with the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics, the de-facto Foreign Ministry noted.
“Today, the collective West, using a network of NGOs in Europe and Russia, is trying to massively spread the thesis ‘I am ashamed that I am Russian.’ [They] actively use social networks, cultural figures and show business. These days, it is important to support the just aspirations of Russia to protect the civilian population of the DPR, LPR and Ukraine. Everyone's voice matters,” the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry said.
“In Sukhumi, they recalled that because of the 2014 coup d’état, radicals of the Western "anti-Russia" project came to power in Ukraine. A significant part of the Russian-speaking residents of the south-east of Ukraine did not hold this ideology. For eight years, the civilian population of the southeast has become the object of armed aggression by the Ukrainian security forces and nationalist groups. They launched rocket and bomb strikes on civilian targets.
Russians and Ukrainians who expressed their disagreement with the actions of the new authorities were subjected to open violence. The Ukrainian authorities have committed massive crimes against their own citizens.
On May 2, 2014, a tragedy occurred in the House of Trade Unions in Odessa, where dozens of innocent people were burned alive. The barbaric actions have not received an objective assessment from the international community, and the organisers were walking around Ukrainian cities and continue to commit genocide. Every year on May 2, thousands of caring people gather in Odessa, commemorate the dead, and call on the international community to punish the perpetrators. The answer is silence.
The international community ignored other crimes of the Ukrainian authorities. We remember the children killed in Luhansk and Donetsk. We remember hundreds and thousands of political prisoners in the southeast - from Odessa to Kharkov, from Nikolaev to Zaporozhe - who were beaten and abused. Among them were pregnant women and very young men. A fair retribution was expected and welcomed by many citizens of Ukraine,” the Foreign Ministry concluded.
Putin supported in separatist Tskhinvali
The rally "Ossetia against Nazism" was held in the centre of Russian-occupied Tskhinvali. About 10,000 people came to show support for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s policy and decision, who announced on February 24 an operation to “de-nazify” Ukraine.
De-facto President Anatoly Bibilov spoke at the event, he stressed that the people of South Ossetia fully support Donbas.
“We ourselves have gone through this difficult path of testing. We have gathered here to emphasise our exceptional support for the policy of the Russian Federation,” Bibilov said during the rally.
