On November 14, the delegation headed by Hakob Arshakyan, the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, met with Faisal Al-Miqdad, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Syrian Arab Republic.

At the meeting, Hakob Arshakyan emphasized the unique role of the Syrian-Armenian community as an inexhaustible bridge of friendship between the two countries and peoples. "Our constant concern is about the situation of the Syrian civilian population, including Armenians and other national minorities. In this regard, I would like to express my gratitude to the Syrian authorities for their caring attitude towards the Armenian community and our cultural heritage," Arshakyan emphasized.

Touching upon the international platforms, the Vice President noted that Armenia maintains its position, voting in favor of the decisions and resolutions aimed at strengthening peace and security in the Middle East, such as the "Creation of a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone: Middle East Region," "The Risk of Nuclear Weapons Proliferation in the Middle East."

"Hakob Arshakyan highly assessed the support of Syria in the organizations of which Armenia is not a member and within the framework of which Azerbaijan makes efforts to carry out anti-Armenian activities, false rhetoric, which misleads the international community and creates a negative image of Armenia and the Armenian people," the report said.

The ongoing military operation in the Gaza Strip was mentioned.

The Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora expressed support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia and considered unacceptable any violation of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia.

The Minister expressed support for the "Crossroads of Peace" project, the Armenian initiative to unblock the infrastructure, categorically rejecting any idea of an extraterritorial corridor, which could call into question the territorial integrity of Armenia.

Faisal Al-Miqdad noted that Syria is ready to defend the interests of the Republic of Armenia in those international organizations of which Armenia is not a member.
