Tripartite Working Group Meeting in Moscow Achieves Progress on Azerbaijan-Armenia Railway Connection
Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk made a statement to the press about the results of the tripartite Working Group meeting held in Moscow on June 2 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The statement reads: "On June 2 in the Russian capital, Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk jointly chaired the meeting of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia on May 25, 2023, in Moscow. The 12th meeting of the tripartite Working Group was held to implement the agreements reached."
"The meeting took place in constructive conditions. Important progress in the field of coordinating the methods of removing the blocking of transport connections between Azerbaijan and Armenia was noted with satisfaction. In particular, a general understanding was reached regarding the implementation of concrete steps for the restoration and organization of the railway connection on the Yeraskh (Arazdeyan)-Julfa-Megri-Horadiz route," it added.
"The leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia will be informed about the results of the negotiations. The parties have agreed to continue the work within the tripartite Working Group," the document states," the official said.
