On March 26, US and Dominican Republic diplomats met with Georgian officials to discuss regional cooperation, trade, multilateral partnerships, and reaffirm US support for Georgia’s sovereignty.

Peter Andreoli, a representative of the US Department of State’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, held a meeting with Maka Botchorishvili, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia, during his working visit to the country. The discussion focused on the United States’ engagement in the South Caucasus and ongoing regional developments. The parties addressed current cooperation issues between Georgia and the US, with particular emphasis on the Middle Corridor and Georgia’s role as a regional connector and transportation hub. The meeting highlighted the United States’ firm support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its non-recognition policy. Botchorishvili reaffirmed Georgia’s readiness to reset relations with the United States and to renew the strategic partnership.

On the same day, Lasha Darsalia, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, met with Elvis Antonio Alam Lora, the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Georgia (with residence in Ankara). The parties emphasized the friendly ties between Georgia and the Dominican Republic and reviewed prospects for expanding bilateral partnership. Discussions included both bilateral and multilateral cooperation, particularly the importance of holding political consultations. Attention was given to fully utilizing the potential for strengthening trade and economic relations, as well as collaboration within international organizations. Darsalia expressed gratitude to the ambassador for supporting resolutions important to Georgia.
