Armenia

NATO Deputy Chief of Staff Visits to Enhance Defense Cooperation
On November 5-6, a NATO delegation led by Vice Admiral Gunnstein Bruåsdal, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Partnerships Directorate at NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), visited Armenia. The delegation held meetings with Major General Artur Yeroyan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, and Levon Ayvazyan, Head of Defense Policy and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Defense. Discussions focused on the progress and future potential of Armenia-NATO defense cooperation. The Armenian side also presented ongoing defense reforms to the delegation. As part of the visit, the delegation toured the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy and the Peacekeeping Brigade.

Azerbaijan

Joint Search and Rescue Exercise with Iran in the Caspian Sea
On November 4, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense announced the successful completion of the AZIREX-2024 joint tactical exercise with Iran in the Caspian Sea. The exercise involved personnel and ships from the naval forces of both countries, with a focus on search and rescue operations, maritime safety, and medical assistance. The exercise aimed to strengthen military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran, demonstrating high levels of professionalism from both sides. Following the exercise, a group of Azerbaijani servicemen and vessels returned to Azerbaijan on November 7, where distinguished participants were awarded honorary distinctions.

Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov’s Official Visit to Slovakia
On November 4, Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov visited Slovakia at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Robert Kaliňák. The visit included a wreath-laying ceremony at the Slavin War Memorial in Bratislava and meetings with Slovak defense officials. The discussions focused on expanding military and military-technical cooperation. On November 5, Hasanov visited the Military Technical and Testing Institute Záhorie, where he observed combat equipment demonstrations and learned about the institute’s activities.

Naval Tactical Exercises in the Caspian Sea
On November 6, the Azerbaijani Navy conducted a tactical exercise involving warships and marines. The three-stage exercise aimed to enhance the skills of commanders and headquarters in organizing and managing combat operations. The exercise's primary objective was to ensure the readiness of Azerbaijan's naval forces to protect the country’s energy infrastructure in the Caspian Sea, while coordinating effectively with special forces.

Georgia

NATO Land Command Delegation Strengthens Military Ties
On November 6, a delegation from NATO Land Command (LANDCOM), led by Lieutenant General Mustafa Oguzi, visited Georgia. Hosted by Major General Giorgi Matiashvili, Commander of the Georgian Defense Forces, the visit included discussions on deepening military cooperation, particularly in developing the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC). Both generals expressed optimism about continuing this productive partnership. The delegation also toured the JTEC and the Joint Military Center in Krtsanis, where they received briefings on future initiatives.

Georgia Signs Joint Statement at South-East European Defense Ministerial
On November 6, Deputy Defense Minister Paata Patiashvili represented Georgia at the South-East European Defense Ministerial (SEDM) in Tirana, Albania. The meeting concluded with a joint statement reaffirming support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, while condemning Russia's continued occupation of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region. The Ministerial focused on enhancing regional cooperation, promoting security, and supporting the integration of South-East European countries into Euro-Atlantic structures. The SEDM, established in 1996, includes 16 member countries committed to regional defense collaboration.
