Armenia
Armenian Military Academy Delegation Visits Greece
From September 25 to 27, a delegation from the Armenian Military Academy, led by Colonel Arsen Mangasaryan, visited Greek military institutions. They met with Greek military leaders and agreed to expand cooperation between the military academies of both countries.
Armenian Defense Delegation Visits Georgia
On October 1-2, Major General Artur Yeroyan led a delegation to Georgia, where they met with Georgian defense leaders, including Major General Giorgi Matiashvili. Discussions focused on deepening defense cooperation. The delegation also visited key Georgian military institutions such as the National Defence Academy.
NATO-Armenia Discussions
On October 3, Lieutenant General Janusz Adamczak, Director General of NATO’s International Military Staff, visited Armenia. He met with Armenian officials to discuss Armenia-NATO cooperation and regional security, and received updates on reforms within the Armenian Armed Forces.
Armenian Soldier Found Dead
On October 6, the body of Armenian soldier Vahe Bagrati Harutyunyan was found with a gunshot wound. An investigation is underway.
Azerbaijan
Local and International Military Exercises
Between September 30 and October 5, Azerbaijan conducted several military exercises, including engineering training, sniper drills, and a competition to determine the "Best Tank Company." A joint Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan command-staff exercise, "Maharat-2024," also concluded with high marks for coordination and professionalism.
Azerbaijani Defense Minister Attends TEKNOFEST 2024
On October 4, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov attended TEKNOFEST 2024 in Adana, Türkiye. He met with Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler to discuss military and technical cooperation and observed demonstrations of Turkish military aircraft.
Hungarian Defense Delegation Visit
On October 3, a Hungarian defense delegation visited Azerbaijan, reviewing special forces operations and discussing prospects for deeper military cooperation.
