World Bank Allocates $2 Million Grant to Azerbaijan for Refugees

On June 2, the World Bank allocated 2 million US dollars in grants to improve the living conditions of internally displaced persons in Azerbaijan, the Press Office of the World Bank reported.
According to the World Bank, on June 2, a grant agreement was signed with the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs on financing the Project for Improving the Living Conditions of IDPs in Azerbaijan.
The State and Peacebuilding Fund will finance the three-year project managed by the bank. The project aims to increase civic engagement, technical skills, and income-generation opportunities for vulnerable IDP families in Azerbaijan.
"Today, as the prospect of many IDPs returning to their homes is clearer, we hope that the lessons learned from the implementation of this project will help strengthen the many services needed for a more prosperous future for IDPs," the report added.
