Iranian government-controlled media threatens Azerbaijan
Iran's official media publishes a provocative article about Azerbaijan
“Kayhan” newspaper, the press organ of Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei's office, has published another provocative article about the Republic of Azerbaijan. The article claims that Muslims are treated mercilessly in Azerbaijan. The newspaper wrote that against the background of the war in Ukraine, the rapid processes taking place in Eastern Europe and the world, the Azerbaijani authorities have increased the cases of violence against Shiites.
In the article, adding the name "Hocjatulislam" in front of Taleh Bagirzada’s name, which is considered a religious title, the newspaper claims that he was arrested for exposing Zionists and Wahhabis. "What is happening to Muslims and Shiites in Azerbaijan today is worse than the treatment of religious people in the country during the former Soviet Union. Therefore, the situation can be compared to the period of fear during Stalin's time," wrote the newspaper of Khamenei's office.
The article refers to other religions in Azerbaijan, including Judaism, Christianity, Bahai, and Krishnaism. A positive approach toward Islam is presented as hostility towards Islam. The activity of Jewish religious temples, in particular, is marked with exceptional sensitivity. At the end of the long article targeting the secular state structure in Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani government is once again described as an enemy of Islam. It is noted that all this is being done on the instructions of America and Israel. The article voices claims of Iranian officials about the presence of Israeli forces, Wahhabi militants, and Turkey's National Intelligence Organization in Azerbaijan.
SEPAH accuses Azerbaijan again
Media organizations affiliated with Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps (SEPAH) published articles criticizing Azerbaijan for closing its land borders against the threat of re-spreading coronavirus. Thus, the SEPAH media claimed that the Iranian side did not close the borders. In contrast, the Azerbaijani side did it unilaterally.
The Telegram channel of the mentioned military institution says that the Azerbaijani army and reserve forces were in full combat readiness after the news about the closure of the Nakhchivan border. Channel disrespected the state and army of Azerbaijan and called it a “Zionist" in the same article.
Iran's newspaper once again interferes in Azerbaijan's internal affairs
The "Kayhan" newspaper comes to the fore with an anti-Azerbaijani article. Thus, the article entitled "Do not be fooled by Baku, the Israeli regime is over" claims: "The expansion of cyber-activity of Zionists in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan will lead to the fact that not only the Zionist regime but also the cyber-infrastructure of Azerbaijan will become the target of cyber and hacker attacks, so Azerbaijan should not be deceived by this regime."
The newspaper, which seems to have forgotten the cyber-attacks of hacker groups connected to Iran's security agencies on the official websites of other countries' state and private institutions for many years, also issued a veiled threat: "The fact that the Zionist regime chose the territory of Azerbaijan for its cyber activities shows that "Baku" officials are not aware of the Zionists' silent threats. In fact, since the presence of Zionists in the region is considered a severe regional threat to other countries, the expansion of the activities of Zionists in Azerbaijan, especially in the field of cyber security, will cast a shadow on the cyber security of this country, and after that, along with the Zionist regime, the infrastructure of Azerbaijan will become the target of hackers and cyber-attacks."
"Kayhan" newspaper, which publishes articles directly on the order of Khamenei's office, as well as ETTELAAT and SEPAH, also says: "In other words, the creation of a cyber security center by the Zionists in the territory of Azerbaijan shows that the Zionists are trying to spread the scale of cyber-attacks against them to other countries. In such a case, the cyber security of other states will face serious threats due to the indifference of their officials."
Threat to territorial integrity of Azerbaijan from a member of the "Huseynchilar" movement
A video of Orkhan Mammadov, an Azerbaijani citizen who lives and studies in Iran and is known for his sharp anti-Azerbaijani speeches, was published on the SEPAH Telegram channel.
Mammadov, influenced by Iran's political and religious ideology, says: "In Iran-Azerbaijan relations, a common sectarian approach is not enough! Iran's civilization border is Iranian culture and national language.” In his speech, Orkhan Mammadov, who even questioned his country's territorial integrity, talks about the importance of Iran's civilization border and Iranian culture and warns about threats.
Mammadov insists that Iran's Farsi-based civilizational frontier should be extended to the Caucasus.
Another threat against Azerbaijan from SEPAH's Telegram channel
On July 4, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov's meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Huseyn Amir-Abdollahian during his visit to Tehran, the SEPAH Telegram channel revealed its position. The channel shared a photo of the flags of Azerbaijan and Iran, commenting: "Allies of the Zionist regime on our northern borders should know that we use a broom to clean the dust. However, sometimes, if necessary, we also launch Fateh [Iran's ballistic missile]."
