Ararat Mirzoyan Meets Sergey Lavrov, Josep Borrell, Tobias Billström and Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in New Delhi
Meeting with Sergey Lavrov
On March 3, in the framework of the "Raisina Dialogue '' conference, Ararat Mirzoyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, met with Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Press Office of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
"The interlocutors exchanged views on issues of regional security and stability. The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Russia discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from the blockade of the Lachin corridor and the disruption of electricity supply by Azerbaijan. The need for the implementation of reached agreements and unblocking of the Lachin corridor in strong adherence to the commitments undertaken under the November 9, 2020 Trilateral Statement was stressed," the report added.
The interlocutors touched upon issues of the normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, delimitation, and border security, unblocking of all economic and transport ties as well as the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Meeting with Josep Borrell
On March 3, Ararat Mirzoyan, who was in New Delhi on a working visit, met with Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
The interlocutors exchanged views on issues of the Armenia-EU partnership agenda. Both sides stressed the importance of deploying the EU Civilian Monitoring Mission in Armenia, which was officially launched on February 20.
Regional and international security issues were touched upon. Ararat Mirzoyan also briefed his interlocutor on the recent developments in the normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.
"Touching upon the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from Azerbaijan's blockade of the Lachin corridor, Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the imperative of unblocking the Lachin corridor without preconditions by the provisions of the November 9 Statement. In this context, the importance of the active involvement of the international community was highlighted aimed at the implementation by Azerbaijan of the legally binding decision made by the International Court of Justice on February 22 regarding the request for provisional measures," the report added.
Ararat Mirzoyan Meets Swedish and Indian Counterparts in New Delhi
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia had also a meeting with Tobias Billström, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, the Press Office of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported. Minister Mirzoyan touched upon the achievements in democratic reforms in Armenia and stressed the importance of continuous support from Armenia's partners.
The sides exchanged views on the Armenia-EU partnership agenda. In the context of establishing stability in the region, both sides underlined the role of the EU long-term Civilian Monitoring Mission, the decision that the EU Council made during the Swedish Presidency. "The Foreign Ministers also discussed issues of international and regional importance. Minister Mirzoyan briefed his colleague on the recent developments in the normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. The humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor was touched upon. In this context, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia highlighted the imperative for taking steps towards the implementation by Azerbaijan of the decision made by the International Court of Justice on February 22 regarding the request for provisional measures," the report added.
Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and India
On March 4, Ararat Mirzoyan met with Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, India's Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The interlocutors commended the dynamics of deepening the political dialogue between Armenia and India, highlighting the role of high-level visits and regular contacts on various platforms. The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and India discussed several areas of the bilateral agenda, touching upon the activation of trade and economic cooperation and business ties as well as the development of relations in the fields of high technologies, education, culture, tourism, and others.
Minister Mirzoyan briefed his counterpart on the recent developments in the normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. "The humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor was touched upon. In this context, the need to apply possible mechanisms towards the implementation by Azerbaijan of the decision made by the International Court of Justice on February 22 regarding the request for provisional measures was also stressed," the report added.
