Armenian Ambassador Responds Lavrov: "Karabakh is Incomparable with Donbas and Kosovo"

On March 24, Armenia reacted to the statement of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who, speaking about the prospects for resolving the Karabakh problem, earlier this week, drew parallels with Donbas and Kosovo.
According to Armenian Ambassador-at-Large Edmon Marukyan, Nagorno-Karabakh, in its entire legal and political history, is incomparable with the Donbas or Kosovo because throughout its history, it has always had an autonomous status, and for the last 30 years, it has been a self-proclaimed state.
"At the same time, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is older than the collapse of the USSR, and the conflicts of the listed [state] units arose after the collapse of the USSR. Therefore, the international community, when looking for solutions to the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, must take into account the entire historical, legal, and political basis; otherwise, any solution based on such examples will lead to a deepening of the problem and its non-resolution," the Armenian diplomat said.
