Armenian Consulate Relocates to Damascus Amid Syrian Turmoil

The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively monitoring the situation in Syria through its diplomatic channels. In an interview with Armenpress, Ani Badalyan, the Ministry’s spokesperson, reiterated that no Armenian citizens have been identified among the victims of the ongoing events in Syria.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is following the developments in Syria through the channels of the Armenian diplomatic service. As we have reported, we can also confirm at this time that no Armenian citizens are among the victims. The Armenian Embassy in Damascus is operating in emergency mode,” stated Badalyan.
She further noted that the Consulate General of Armenia in Aleppo, which had traveled to Damascus on November 26 to receive credentials from the Syrian Foreign Ministry, has been unable to return to Aleppo and continues its operations from Damascus.
"Depending on the situation's further developments, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will make appropriate decisions," Badalyan concluded.
