Armenian, Turkish Leaders Review Progress on Bilateral Normalization at UN Summit

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met during the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, the PM press office informs. The leaders reviewed the steps taken and agreements reached in the Armenia-Turkey normalization process, expressing their willingness to continue these efforts without preconditions and to reinvigorate bilateral relations. They also discussed broader regional issues.

Prime Minister Pashinyan updated President Erdoğan on the ongoing Armenia-Azerbaijan settlement process, Armenia's readiness to sign a peace agreement, and the government's “Crossroads of Peace” initiative.

According to the Turkish government’s website, Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan discussed the ongoing efforts to normalize relations between Armenia and Turkey and Armenia-Azerbaijan relations during their meeting. President Erdoğan expressed his support for establishing a lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and fostering a new era of friendship. He emphasized his commitment to advancing these efforts and noted significant progress in the Armenia-Turkey normalization process, reiterating his sincere support for continuing the dialogue without preconditions.
