Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait

On March 1, during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Armenia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan, met with Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait.

The discussions between the two diplomats centered on broadening the political dialogue between Armenia and Kuwait, with a mutual commitment to advancing practical initiatives across various domains. They underscored the strong foundation of friendly relations and interactions between their respective peoples, highlighting the potential for further development through high-level exchanges.

Regional security issues were also addressed during the meeting. Minister Mirzoyan provided an update to his counterpart on the ongoing normalization efforts in Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. He emphasized Armenia's stance on the crucial importance of clear commitments to mutual recognition of territorial integrity, as outlined in the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991. He also emphasized the need for transparency in the delimitation process moving forward.

As part of the peace-oriented agenda and within the framework of regional connectivity initiatives, Ararat Mirzoyan presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by the Armenian government. He elaborated on its economic benefits and investment opportunities aimed at fostering regional cooperation and stability.

Meeting with Turkey's Minister of Foreign Affairs

On the same day, Mirzoyan met with Turkey's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan. 

The discussions focused on the ongoing process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Turkey, with a joint commitment to achieve comprehensive normalization. Both sides exchanged views on potential practical measures to advance this normalization process.

In addition to bilateral matters, the meeting addressed various international and regional issues of mutual concern.

Meeting with the Secretary General of the OSCE

On March 2, during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, met with Helga Schmid, the Secretary General of the OSCE, on the forum's sidelines.

The discussions primarily focused on enhancing cooperation between Armenia and the OSCE, with particular emphasis on implementing specific projects. Minister Mirzoyan and Secretary General Schmid exchanged views on regional issues, including the normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.

Minister Mirzoyan provided insights into the latest discussions regarding the normalization process, highlighting Armenia's stance on ensuring the further delimitation process based on the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991 and the importance of unblocking regional communications. He emphasized the necessity for Azerbaijan to demonstrate clear commitment and adherence to the declared principles in these matters.

Additionally, the meeting addressed various other issues of mutual interest, contributing to ongoing dialogue and cooperation between Armenia and the OSCE.

Panel discussion titled “International Trade, Connectivity and Interdependence”

On the same day, Mirzoyan participated in the “International Trade, Connectivity and Interdependence” panel discussion.

Minister Mirzoyan underscored the significance of enhancing international trade and connectivity in his address, emphasizing the economic benefits and the potential for increased people-to-people interactions. As a landlocked country with limited open borders, Armenia recognizes the critical importance of international trade and connectivity, particularly in fostering economic growth and regional integration. Minister Mirzoyan highlighted ongoing negotiations with neighboring countries to reopen closed borders and establish normal relations.

He emphasized that beyond economic gains, increased interconnectivity contributes to peace-building efforts by fostering mutual interdependence among nations. Minister Mirzoyan elaborated on Armenia's "Crossroads of Peace" initiative, which aims to unlock regional transit routes and transport infrastructure. This initiative, he explained, is designed not only as an economic endeavor but also as a potential catalyst for regional peace.

Minister Mirzoyan outlined four key principles for unblocking regional infrastructure: maintaining sovereignty over existing infrastructure, adherence to national legislation, simplification of procedures, and adherence to principles of equality and reciprocity. He emphasized the importance of political will in finding solutions and collaborating to overcome regional challenges.
