Azerbaijan Accuses France of Fuelling Conflict in the Caucasus

On March 28, Colonel General Ali Naghiyev, the Head of the State Security Service (SSS) of Azerbaijan, articulated that France has been actively encouraging Armenia toward instigating a fresh conflict in the South Caucasus.
Highlighting France's actions, Naghiyev emphasized that instead of fostering regional peace, France has been providing military support, including arms and ammunition, to Armenia, which has maintained occupation of Azerbaijani territories for approximately three decades. "France deploys its military mission there, incites Armenia to another war, tries to realize its plan to turn the South Caucasus into a battlefield," Naghiyev asserted.
Expanding on France's endeavors, Naghiyev underscored that through its intelligence apparatus, Paris engages in clandestine cooperation with various individuals, establishing a spy network that operates to the detriment of Baku's interests.
Naghiyev reiterated that the SSS had successfully uncovered and addressed such activities, taking necessary and proportionate measures. "In the future, appropriate measures will be taken to prevent and suppress threats to the security of our state, while the operational situation will always be under control. We must always be ready for new challenges and all kinds of negative scenarios, not to lose vigilance in matters of reliable security," Naghiyev concluded.
