Azerbaijani MP: "Peace Treaty Between Azerbaijan and Armenia Not to be Signed in European Capitals"

On October 24, Zahid Oruj, the Chairman of the Human Rights Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament, stated that a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia will not be signed in European capitals.

Oruj noted, "One of the leaders of the European media, which increased its systematic attacks on our victory ten times - the German publication 'Die Welt' published an adventurous article entitled 'In the shadow of Gaza - where is the danger of the next war': It seems that the current German government, which has sharply changed its position towards our country, does not want the era of hostility in the South Caucasus to end. Most of the 54 articles dedicated to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict in 2023 by the 'Die Welt' newspaper serve to incite, defame our country, and isolate it from the national and religious point of view as an Islamic country. You say that because the world's attention is directed to the Gaza region, the Azerbaijani army will attack Yerevan and occupy the Zangezur corridor by military means."

The MP said that the European officials aim to mark Azerbaijan as an occupier and cause the victorious state to suffer a loss of prestige, subject it to sanctions, and forcefully return the Armenians to Karabakh under the armor of NATO. "In Khankendi's Victory Square, the head of state [Ilham Aliyev] spoke about the history of non-discriminatory coexistence with Armenians, joint management of Soviet Karabakh, and preparing societies for peace. How come 'Die Welt' publication, fascist-leaning Annalena Baerbock, does not see these things?" he noted.
