Azerbaijani MP Urges Iranian Azerbaijanis to Rebel

| News, Politics, Azerbaijan

On January 30, Azerbaijani MP Vahid Ahmadov talked about the possibility of war between Iran and Azerbaijan.

"I do not believe that relations between Iran and Azerbaijan can lead to war. However, the situation will deteriorate. I think the Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan must be closed. Consider that the Iranian embassy did not inform; representatives fled from the embassy building and hid," he added.

The MP said there is no unequivocal, good idea in Iran: "Everyone knows that Iran is a terrorist state. The revolution in Iran will occur sooner or later; the coup will occur. A democratic state must be built there. Iran also wants to create a nuclear weapon. This is not accepted by foreign countries. Israel, the United States, and other countries have already posed significant obstacles to Iran, and these obstacles will continue."

"Iran was Iran himself. Although Iran was a Muslim state, he chose Armenia. He established all political and economic relations with Armenia. The 44-day war was next to Armenia. All the steps taken after the end of the war were in favor of Armenia. As a result, relations between Azerbaijan and Iran remained tense. In the 44-day war, Iran could not digest the victory of Azerbaijan, as it could not digest several countries. They thought that the Azerbaijani lands would be constantly occupied. However, as a result of the efforts of the President and the Azerbaijani Army, we achieved victory. They cannot accept that," Ahmadov emphasized.

Ahmadov also touched upon the situation within Iran: "There has been a period in Iran. There is severe pressure on Azerbaijanis, and they are suffering, not protected either by schools, health centers, or cultural centers - nothing. The rights of 40 million Azerbaijanis were actually destroyed in Iran. Of course, this cannot last forever."

"Nonetheless, the Azerbaijani government kept the consulate in Tabriz. Our state will always help with the protection of the rights of the population there and meet certain requirements. Iran must sit down and negotiate with the Azerbaijani state. It should beg us to normalize relations. There was no need to lead to this degree. Iran's situation is already tense in the world system. I urge our 40 million compatriots living in Iran to rebel now," he concluded.
