Azerbaijani Official Criticizes "Individual EU Countries'" Role in Armenia Peace Talks

On January 2, Azerbaijani President's Representative for Special Assignments Elchin Amirbayov said that Baku hopes to hold another round of negotiations with Yerevan on the draft peace agreement soon.
"The main track of the negotiations is to agree on the text of the peace agreement," the high-ranking official said. "In addition to the main track, there are two more - opening communications and delimitation of the border with its subsequent demarcation," he explained.
According to Amirbayov, Europe will only benefit from the imminent signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. "And if the EU countries cannot help in this, Baku expects that they will at least not hinder it," he added.
"The EU is not a unified structure, the positions of individual EU countries negatively affect the process of achieving long-term peace in the South Caucasus region," Amirbayov emphasized.
