Croatian Foreign Minister Meets High-level Georgian Officials in Tbilisi

On February 9, Gordan Grlić-Radman, the Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, visited Georgia. 

On the same day, Ilia Darchiashvili, the Foreign Minister of Georgia, and Radman had a meeting. The Georgian Foreign Minister expressed Georgia's gratitude to Croatia for supporting Georgia's journey toward European integration and for being willing to share relevant expertise at the joint news conference conducted after the meeting. He said the visit is significant because it commemorates the 30th anniversary of the start of diplomatic ties between the two nations, which will further develop now that the Georgian diplomatic post in Zagreb has recently been established. The two sides discussed current topics on the agenda for bilateral cooperation emphasized the need to sustain the high-level political discussion, and talked about potential avenues for expanding their relationship in various ways.

On February 9, Irakli Garibashvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia, and Gordan Grlić-Radman met. The Government administration reports that the parties examined the principal areas of cooperation between the two nations and talked about the potential for even closer collaboration in several areas. The discussion also covered Georgia's progress toward European integration. The discussion emphasized the significance of the European Commission's assessment of Georgia's national legal system's compliance with EU law. The prime minister praised Croatia's foreign and European affairs minister for his unwavering support of Georgia's territorial integrity, sovereignty, and European integration.

During his meeting with the Croatian Foreign Minister, Levan Davitashvili, Georgia's Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, highlighted the significance of sharing Croatia's experience as an EU member state on Georgia's road to European integration. The establishment of a diplomatic post by Georgia in Croatia's capital city of Zagreb was welcomed by both parties as it would further deepen the amicable relations between the two nations.

According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, the Croatian Foreign Minister will conduct a public lecture at the Tbilisi State University, meet with top legislative representatives, and tour the occupation line while in Georgia. A group of Croatian businesspeople will meet with Georgian company leaders during the visit.

According to the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties addressed bilateral political and economic ties as well as Croatia's support for Georgia's EU membership.
