Dagestan Announces Anti-Terrorist Measures

On September 15, additional measures were taken in Dagestan to ensure citizens' safety and protect strategically important facilities.

On the agenda of the meeting of the Dagestan government, which was held under the leadership of Prime Minister Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, the issue of anti-terrorist measures taken with regard to socially important facilities was put on the agenda. The head of the Cabinet noted that taking into account the current situation in the region, measures have been strengthened to ensure the safety of people, security, and anti-terrorist protection of critical facilities to increase the sustainability of their work.

The Ministry of Energy of the Dagestan said that since the beginning of 2023, 43 training drills have been held at fuel and energy companies to practice the relevant practical skills of employees.

"A list of 104 trade facilities located within the territory of the republic and subject to categorization and passportization in the interests of their anti-terrorist protection was approved by order of the head of the Republic of Tajikistan. Of 104 trade objects, 96 trade objects have completed the procedure of passportization and categorization, and three security passports are under approval," the Ministry of Industry and Trade added.

The Ministry of Health added, "Security passports and action plans for different levels of terrorist danger have been developed and are updated annually."

Ministry of Education and Science stated that briefings and practical training on actions to be taken when a terrorist act is committed or threatened are conducted on a scheduled basis. "In the current year, work has been carried out to eliminate the shortcomings identified in terms of ensuring anti-terrorist protection. The Ministry of Education and Science has also organized more than 7,500 events for pupils to teach them how to act in the event of a terrorist threat, with the participation of 120,000 children. More than 600 specialists from various departments and security structures were involved in these events," it added.
