Delegations from Italy, Czech Republic, France Visit Armenia: Focus on Military Collaboration

As reported by the Armenian Defence Ministry, from April 23 to 25, a delegation led by Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Defence, Karen Brutyan, had a working visit to Italy. During the visit, the delegation engaged in meetings with various officials, including Luciano Portolano, the Secretary General of Defence-National Armaments Director of the Ministry of Defence, Matteo Perego di Cremnago, the Undersecretary of State for Defence, and Giuseppe Cossiga, the President of AIAD of the Italian Republic, along with representatives from military-industrial companies. 

The discussions primarily centered around military, military-technical, and military-technological cooperation between Armenia and Italy. As a result of these discussions, several agreements were reached.

This was followed by the visit of Czech Defence Ministry representatives to Armenia. As the Armenian Defence Ministry informs, on April 22, a delegation headed by Konderlová Radka, the Director General for the Industrial Cooperation Division of the Czech Ministry of Defence, visited the Armenian Ministry of Defence. The delegation comprised representatives from Czech military-industrial companies. In discussions with Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Defence, Karen Brutyan, the focus was on reviewing the advancements and potential future developments in military-technical cooperation between Armenia and the Czech Republic. Subsequently, several agreements were reached as a result of the meeting.

Meanwhile, on April 23, the Minister of Defence of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, hosted a delegation headed by Gilbert-Luc Devinaz, Chairman of the France-Armenia Friendship Group of the French Senate. The meeting, which also included Olivier Decottignies, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Armenia, covered various topics about Armenia-France relations, specifically emphasizing collaboration within the defense sector. Discussions also delved into regional security concerns and the ongoing significant reforms within the Armenian Armed Forces.
