'Foreign Minister' of Separatist Abkhazia on Working Visit to Turkey

On June 30, Inal Ardzinba, the de-facto Minister of Foreign Affairs of the separatist Abkhazia, met in the Turkish province of Düzce with Talih Khvatysh, the MP of the Turkish Parliament and Deputy Chairman of the Commission on International Relations.

"The parties noted the importance of developing a joint roadmap to intensify work with compatriots living in Turkey. Inal Ardzinba noted the relevance of coordinated work at the site of the Turkish Parliament to expand international contacts and recognition of Abkhazia. Khvatysh supported the initiative, noting that he would make every effort to implement the plans," Ardzinba said in a statement following the meeting.

Ardzinba stressed that holding cultural, humanitarian, investment, and economic events in Turkey is very important for disseminating information about Abkhazia.

On June 29, Inal Ardzinba visited Turkey.

Doğu Perinçek, the chairman of the Motherland Party (Vatan Partisi), believes that recognition of the sovereignty of Abkhazia by Turkey is an achievable goal shortly. "Our main common goal is the recognition of the state sovereignty of Abkhazia by Turkey. I assure you that we will achieve this very shortly by joint efforts," Perinçek said at a meeting in Istanbul with Inal Ardzinba.

Perinçek also noted the importance of developing a dialogue between the Republic of Abkhazia and Northern Cyprus. The party leader also stated that 90% of Turkish citizens support the foreign policy of the Russian Federation.

Inal Ardzinba noted that a special military operation [Russo-Ukrainian War] is a step towards forming a new, more just system of international relations.
