On August 24, Ukraine's Independence Day was celebrated with a march through the streets of Tbilisi. The action started in Chavchavadze Avenue and ended in Rustaveli, in front of the Parliament building.

The main part of the march participants were citizens of Ukraine. The Ukrainian anthem was played in the streets of the city, and the participants held a symbolically sewn flag of 32 meters in length.

"Today is the Independence Day of Ukraine. Ukraine is 32 years old. I am very happy to meet with my children and family today. Thank you Georgia for your warm welcome. I want to meet at home on the next Independence Day" - one of the participants of the rally, Irina Novalenko, told Radio Liberty.

The march was called "Let's fight for freedom" and was attended by Georgian citizens of various ages. "I wish freedom for Ukraine, freedom from Putin... We must free our beautiful country from Putin," said Irma Natsvilishvili, another participant of the rally.
