Georgian Dream Calls on US Embassy to Align With Trump's Policies on Protests

On February 4, Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream, stated that it was necessary to ensure the US Embassy operates in line with the views of newly elected US President Donald Trump.
Mdinaradze claimed that "representatives of the diplomatic state lobbied for the financing of the revolution in Georgia," asserting that "it is obvious that the money of American taxpayers was used to organize the revolution in Georgia against their will." He expressed disappointment with the US Embassy in Georgia, arguing that its stance differs from the approach of the current US administration.
"It is unbelievable that the embassy is trying to have the diplomatic state agency continue to act and show self-rule. Everyone, both in Georgia and in the US, is sure that if they are pointed out to them, those who are organizing street protests today, the harm that is still being done to Georgia will stop in one minute. The actions of these people and the embassy's statement actually coincide, and they can easily prove that they really support the approaches of the new US president," Mdinaradze stated.
