Giorgi Gakharia: "Russia Occupies Georgian Government"
On June 1, Giorgi Gakharia, the former Prime Minister of Georgia and the leader of the "For Georgia" party, stated that calling the aspiration for NATO membership the reason for Russian aggression is a Russian narrative and proof that Russia occupies the Georgian government.
Gakharia added, "The government is preparing the ground for rejecting NATO membership. Calling the aspiration for NATO membership the reason for Russian aggression is a Russian narrative and another proof that Russia occupies the Georgian government. The authorities are preparing the ground for rejecting NATO membership under the false narrative of a second front and neutrality. Membership of the European Union and NATO is a guarantee of peace, statehood, and territorial integrity of Georgia."
