Georgian PM meets USAID representative

On November 3, Irakli Garibashvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia, met with Erin Elizabeth McKee, the Assistant Administrator (AA) of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia (E&E), the Press Office of the Georgian government reported. According to the Press Office, the parties focused on USAID’s firm support for Georgia in every key direction.

"It was highlighted that the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations is celebrated between the United States and Georgia. Over the past three decades, the USA has made a tremendous contribution to the democratic advancement of Georgia through various programs implemented in the country, among other things supporting Georgia's economic growth and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. It was stressed at the meeting that Georgia is and will remain the closest and most reliable partner of the USA in the region and stands ready to strengthen this solid partnership further," the report stated.

PM meets the Israeli Ambassador to Georgia

On November 3, Irakli Garibashvili met H.E. Hadas Ester Meitzad, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Georgia.

Garibashvili congratulated the newly-appointed Ambassador on the successful holding of parliamentary elections and expressed hopes for continued close cooperation after the new government gets formed in Israel.

Dignitaries spoke about the centuries-long connection and future priorities of the two countries. A focus was made on tourism and the significance of making full use of the potential offered by trade and economic relations between Israel and Georgia. Also, fruitful cooperation between the line ministries and parliaments of the two countries was noted at the meeting. Among other things, a particular focus was placed on the fact that several significant bilateral agreements were signed in recent years.

Georgian PM holds virtual meeting with EBRD President

On November 2, the Prime Minister of Georgia and Odile Renaud-Basso, the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), met online.

According to the Government Press Office, the two sides discussed the positive working relationship and potential areas for future interaction between Georgia and the EBRD.

"In addition to being a dependable partner, the EBRD has made a significant contribution to Georgia's democratic growth," the head of Georgia's government said. At the conference, it was observed that the EBRD played a crucial role in tackling the challenges seen in the post-pandemic era.

The parties also discussed the specifics of sectoral cooperation, such as the country's energy security and independence, regionally significant projects aimed at increasing power generation through only green and renewable sources, connectivity to the Black Sea, various infrastructure projects, economic and structural reforms, a strengthened role for the private sector, human capital, and others.

The Prime Minister expressed hope for the continuation of the currently successful collaboration. It was underlined that the EBRD's assistance is important in financing the nation's key sectors.
