On October 12, Jeyhun Bayramov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, participated in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) held in Astana, the Press Office of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke at a limited meeting. In his speech, the Minister expressed his gratitude to Kazakhstan, as the chairman country, for organizing the meeting at a high level for mutual activity within the framework of the CIS, as well as a constructive exchange of ideas on current issues on the regional and international agenda. Noting that security issues are more relevant in joint action against the challenges and threats of the modern world, the Minister emphasized the importance of conducting consultations at various levels between interested parties within the framework of the CIS. In particular, Bayramov stressed the importance of cooperation in the humanitarian field.

The Minister informed the meeting participants about the current situation in the region against the backdrop of new realities in the region after the 44-day war, including the issues related to the advancement of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He said the end of the conflict created new opportunities to achieve long-term peace and stability in the region by restoring economic and communication relations. In particular, he pointed out that the region's importance will increase after the opening of the Zangazur corridor, which will improve transit opportunities and strengthen the investment environment in general. The Minister spoke about the government of Azerbaijan's large-scale construction projects in liberated areas and the active work being done to ensure the return of internally displaced people to their homes. The meeting participants noted that the scale of the work being done in a short period demonstrates Azerbaijan's determination to restore and develop the liberated lands and that this, in turn, will make a significant contribution to the post-conflict stability of the region.

During the speech, he stressed that Armenia has not fully implemented the tripartite declarations, and the Armenian soldiers have not yet been fully withdrawn from the territories of Azerbaijan. "Also, it was noted that the provocations by Armenia continued, and the military provocation, which started on September 13-14 with an attempt to mine the security roads of the Azerbaijani forces in the border zone, caused numerous casualties," the report from the ministry stated.

"It was brought to attention that these actions by Armenia undermine efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region. The Minister stated that the Republic of Azerbaijan expects real steps to be taken by Armenia in the direction of normalizing relations and advancing the negotiation process and that our country is determined to continue its efforts in this regard," the information added.
