Kadyrov's Akhmat Special Forces Sign Contract with Russian Defense Ministry

| News, Security, North Caucasus

On June 12, Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, commented on the signing by the Ministry of Defense of the first contract with the Akhmat detachment.

According to him, a very important document was signed - a contract with the Ministry of Defense, which will give the Akhmat special forces, one of the most combative volunteer units, a certain legal status, according to which the volunteers will have all the rights, various benefits, and a social package, as well as the rest of the military personnel of the Ministry of Defense.

"I believe that the receipt of state legal status by volunteer units will positively impact their service. Now there will be no need to look for any legal loopholes to provide the necessary assistance to the wounded volunteers, as well as their families, in the event of the death of a soldier. Now all of them will have the status of military personnel and will officially be part of the Defense Ministry," Kadyrov said.

He recalled that since the beginning of the Russo-Ukrainian War, the Chechen Republic had been a center for recruiting, training, and educating volunteers. "Through the Russian University of Special Forces in Gudermes, tens of thousands of people from the Chechen Republic and various parts of Russia have already passed, who, with weapons in their hands, are participating in the liberation of Donbas and other regions of Ukraine from NATO Nazism," he added.

"The Hero of Russia Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov Regional Public Fund is doing a great job of equipping the fighters with new equipment, providing food and reimbursement of travel expenses to Grozny. This is tremendous support for our soldiers in today's difficult conditions," the head of the region added.

Recently, Sergei Shoigu, the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, ordered all volunteer detachments to sign contracts with his ministry by the end of the month, a step it said would increase the effectiveness of the Russian army.
