Mirzoyan’s Visit to Kazakhstan Focuses on Strengthening Bilateral Relations, Peace Agreement, and Economic Cooperation

On March 27, during an official visit to Kazakhstan, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to discuss bilateral relations, strategic partnership, economic cooperation, and regional issues, including the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement.

Both sides acknowledged recent positive developments in high-level political dialogue and reviewed the progress in implementing previously reached agreements. Mirzoyan and Tokayev exchanged views on enhancing cooperation in key sectors such as the economy, trade, transport, innovation, and education.

Speaking in Astana, Mirzoyan reiterated that the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan would be a breakthrough, stating that it was time to finalize negotiations and advance peace in the South Caucasus while unlocking economic opportunities.

Discussions also covered prospects for trade, investment, transport, culture, and humanitarian cooperation. Tokayev emphasized Kazakhstan’s readiness to increase exports to Armenia by $350 million, further strengthening economic ties.
