In an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel on February 8, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin emphasized Moscow's stance on the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. He highlighted the importance of implementing trilateral agreements between Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, stating that this approach offers the most reliable path to achieve Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization.

Galuzin underscored Moscow's goal of assisting Yerevan and Baku in reaching a sustainable trajectory of reconciliation and peaceful interaction. He emphasized that Russia's efforts aim to facilitate a peaceful resolution and promote stability in the South Caucasus region.

The Deputy Foreign Minister expressed skepticism about the involvement of extra-regional players, particularly the United States and the European Union, in the normalization process. Galuzin suggested that Western involvement may not contribute to normalization but rather seek to sideline Russia from the process and disrupt the existing balance of power in the region.

Galuzin reiterated Russia's offer to provide consultative services to Armenia and Azerbaijan regarding the delimitation of their border. He highlighted Russia's possession of relevant topographical materials that could assist in this process.

Regarding the peace process and signing a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Galuzin stated that Russia remains actively engaged in facilitating discussions on various issues. He emphasized Russia's readiness to offer its platform for Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations on the peace treaty, signaling Moscow's commitment to fostering dialogue and resolving conflicts in the region.
