Russian Defense Ministry Says No Ceasefire Violations Recorded Since September 20

On September 24, the Russian Defense Ministry said that no ceasefire violations have been recorded in Nagorno-Karabakh since September 20.

"The armed formations of Karabakh have continued to hand over weapons and military equipment under the control of Russian peacekeepers," the ministry said. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, as of September 24, six units of armored vehicles, more than 1,200 small arms, anti-tank weapons and portable air defense systems, and about 130,000 rounds of ammunition have been handed over.

"The Russian peacekeeping contingent continues to fulfill its tasks on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. There is constant interaction with Baku and Stepanakert aimed at preventing bloodshed, ensuring security and compliance with the norms of humanitarian law for the civilian population. No violations of the ceasefire were recorded," the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Azerbaijani Servicemen Killed in Mine Explosion

On September 24, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported that at about 17:35 the KamAZ military vehicle of the Azerbaijani Army exploded on a mine.

"The servicemen of the Azerbaijani Army Shadmanov Akram and Seyidov Tural became shehids (martyrs) as a result of the explosion of an anti-tank mine, which was laid in advance for the purpose of terrorism on the supply routes of the Azerbaijani Army. Another serviceman of the Azerbaijani Army, Aliyev Elvin, was injured in various degrees. After first aid was administered to the wounded serviceman, he was immediately evacuated to a nearby military medical facility. His condition is stable," the report added.

Russian Presidential Spokesman: "Russia Does Not Agree with Attempts to Blame Russian Peacekeepers"

Speaking to journalists on September 25, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia will continue its dialogue with Armenia, including with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, but categorically disagrees with attempts to accuse Russian peacekeepers.

According to him, the dialogue with Armenia continues at various levels in these difficult days. "You know, just recently Putin had a telephone conversation with Pashinyan. We understand the emotional heat of this moment, but we categorically disagree with the attempt to put the responsibility on the Russian side, or even more so on the Russian peacekeepers, who are showing real heroism and performing their functions in accordance with the existing mandate. No one can accuse the peacekeepers of doing anything wrong. We will never accept such accusations," the Kremlin spokesman said.
