In Yerevan, more over half of those polled oppose opening the border with Turkey. The MPG (Marketing Professional Group - the exclusive representative of the International Association GALLUP in Armenia) consulting firm's survey data supports this claim.

So, when asked if they favour of the opening of the border between Armenia and Turkey, just 6.9% of respondents said unequivocally yes, 15.6% somewhat yes, 7.6% somewhat no, and 54.6% opposed. At the same time, 15.3% of those polled found it difficult to react. As a result, 62.2% of Yerevan residents oppose establishing the border with Turkey.

At the same time, slightly more than half of Armenians spoke out against the government's plan to ease the embargo on Turkish imports.

When asked how they felt about the Government of the Republic of Armenia's decision in December to refuse to extend the ban on the import of goods with Turkish labels into the country, 18.2% said they unambiguously support the executive body's decision, 20% said they somewhat support it, 11.8% said they don't support it, 39.2% said they don't support it at all, and another 10.8% said it was difficult to say.

From January 24 to February 2, this year, a telephone poll was performed among Yerevan inhabitants. It was attended by 800 individuals. The margin of error for this poll is +/- 3.5 percent.

MPG was appointed as the official representative of the Gallup International Association in Armenia in 2011, one of the world's most prominent and impartial public opinion research companies. MPG has completed over 800 projects of varying kinds in the sociological and marketing research industry since 2003.
