Russia Reaffirms Financial Support for Separatist Abkhazia, Pledging Continued Assistance for State Employees and Joint Projects

On February 5, following talks with Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, Badra Gunba, the de facto Vice President of separatist Abkhazia, announced that Russia would continue financing salaries for budgetary employees in the breakaway region.
The discussions centered on further cooperation between Russia and the de facto authorities of Abkhazia, the continuation of joint projects, and financial support for state employees. It was emphasized that all projects would proceed without delays.
"Most importantly, we have reached an understanding that support will continue, including for budgetary employees in Abkhazia. All commitments made will be fulfilled, directly impacting thousands of our citizens," Gunba stated.
Siluanov reaffirmed Russia’s commitment, emphasizing that all planned obligations would be met.
"We have a strong and stable financial relationship between our budgets. All plans set for this year and beyond will be implemented. Our primary focus is on fulfilling obligations to people and supporting state-funded projects. In this regard, our cooperation remains fully coordinated," he stated.
