Shell Enters Armenian Market
On June 30, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the delegation led by Joanna Kuenssberg, the Deputy Director for Commonwealth of Independent States and Middle East countries of the British-Dutch Shell company, the Press Office of the Armenian Prime Minister reported.
The Prime Minister welcomed the entry of the prestigious company into the Armenian market, whose first gas station was opened in Yerevan on June 29. Nikol Pashinyan expressed confidence that the company will introduce new quality and business culture to the Armenian market with its activities. The Prime Minister wished success to the company and emphasized that the Government will continue consistent steps to improve the business environment.
Joanna Kuenssberg thanked the Government for supporting the launch of Shell in Armenia and provided details on further plans. Joanna Kuenssberg informed that within the next five years, the company plans to operate 25 gas stations in Yerevan and all regions, where various other services will also be provided.
A day before, the opening of the first filling station of the British-Dutch energy company Shell took place in Yerevan. "It's not just a gas station, it's a new culture. Shell, in terms of the quality of its products and the level of services, will change the demand for services in the gas station sector in Armenia, and we will see qualitative changes in the overall market," Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan said at the opening ceremony of gas stations.
According to him, the presence of this company in Armenia demonstrates that the Transcaucasian Republic is becoming a better place for large international investors. According to the Ministry of Economy of the country, the licensed representative of Shell in Armenia is Royal Oil LLC, which, in cooperation with the European Energy Corporation, plans to open about 25 gas stations in the local market over the next five years to create a network of new generation gas stations.
