United National Movement Dismisses Claims about Conflict Inside Party
On September 26, the opposition United National Movement (UNM) dismissed claims of conflict inside the party.
According to the UNM statement, a tiny handful of people distributed false information regarding disagreement in the party during the party's recently stated plan and strategy for defeating oligarch Ivanishvili (the founder of the GD and former PM). According to the party, those actions were part of a Russian dream strategy meant to instill pessimism and nihilism in society.
The party said, "For this reason, they continually attempt to orchestrate provocations and manufacture confrontations with the opposing parties. In this context, the main concern should be the eventual overthrow of the Ivanishvili dictatorship." "The [Georgian] Russian Dream tactic of inciting strife and internal rifts inside the main opposition party must not be backed by us," the statement stated.
"The United National Movement will stick to its plan to overthrow the government by holding early elections. The power of togetherness," the UNM said.
