US State Department: "United States Is Strong Supporter of Territorial Integrity of Armenia and Azerbaijan"
On December 2, during a formal press briefing, Ned Price, the Spokesman of the US State Department, stated, "We certainly hope that dialogue and a constructive atmosphere between the two countries will continue as we continue to support diplomacy leading to lasting peace and the resolution of problems between the two countries."
"Regarding the US President's meeting with President Macron, I will leave any potential discussion regarding Armenia and Azerbaijan to the White House. But as you know, the United States has worked hard with the parties to ensure a peaceful future for the South Caucasus region. We have held two tripartite meetings between Armenia and Azerbaijan with the participation of State Secretary Blinken. He continues to maintain telephone contact with the parties," he added.
"When they were last together, the foreign ministers agreed to speed up the talks and organize another meeting in the coming weeks. Both ministers expressed their gratitude to the US side for hosting the meeting," Ned Price noted.
"The United States is committed to peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Direct dialogue is the best path to true peace, and the United States is very happy to support it. The United States is a strong supporter of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both Armenia and Azerbaijan," the Secretary of State concluded.
