The Prigorodny District Court of North Ossetia found Valery Gasaev, co-founder of the Ossetia Svobodnaya telegram channel, guilty of "discrediting the use of the armed forces", imposing a maximum fine of 559 euros under this article. The reason for prosecution was a link posted in the channel to The Times with a photograph of a pregnant woman on a stretcher against the background of a destroyed building in Mariupol.

Gasaev pled not guilty in court. When making the decision, the judge referred to the statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov that there were no women in labour and medical personnel in the Mariupol maternity hospital.
