Azerbaijan

Joint Action Plans with the Ombudsman Office, Prosecutor's Office, and State Committee on Religious Associations

On January 3, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported that the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ombudsman Office of Azerbaijan signed a Joint Action Plan for 2024.

According to the plan, the venue, time, and the persons responsible for conducting the events in the types of troops (forces), Army Corps, formations, military units, and special educational institutions under the Ministry of Defense have been determined.

As part of the upcoming events, several meetings will be held dedicated to protecting the rights of military personnel, studying the situation regarding the protection of human rights, reports will be heard on various topics, and a detailed exchange of views will be held.

On January 6, the joint action plan was signed between the Ministry of Defense and the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan to strengthen the rule of law and military discipline and prevent crimes in the Azerbaijan Army during 2024.

In 2024, a series of meetings will be held across various branches of the armed forces, including the Army Corps, formations, military units, and specialized educational institutions under the Defense Ministry. These meetings are designed to enhance the legal understanding of military personnel, reinforce discipline and legal compliance, and address any prevailing issues.

On January 7, the Ministry of Defense and the State Committee on Religious Associations signed a Joint Action Plan for 2024.

According to the Joint Action Plan, the venue, time, and the persons responsible for the execution of the events on combating religious radicalism to be held in the Azerbaijan Army have been determined. It is planned to organize the events in the types of troops (forces), Army Corps, formations, military units, and special educational institutions under the Ministry of Defense.

During the current year, events and educational talks will be held with the military personnel of the Azerbaijan Army, the preservation and development of national-moral and cultural values, the fight against radical religious movements and extremism, cooperation between cultures, civilizations, and religious confessions, as well as other topics.
