This session covered the tactical and technical features of modern weapons and military equipment used by the Azerbaijan Army, their operational rules, and elements of drill training. Additionally, participants successfully completed tasks involving taking firing positions and destroying imaginary enemy targets at the firing range. The session aimed to enhance the reservists' combat training, knowledge, and practical skills.
On May 31, during the units' withdrawal to the exercise area, their maneuverability capabilities and the skills of commanders in managing headquarters under difficult operational conditions were assessed. The headquarters' activities in providing comprehensive support to units were also evaluated. At the deployed field and stationary combat control points, operation planning was initiated, and actions corresponding to optimal military decision-making processes were conducted based on tasks received from higher command.
The second stage of the exercises took place in the Simulation Center, using computers to ensure the effective application of decisions made by headquarters, commanders' skills in unit management, and fire support equipment. During the command-staff exercise, tasks for formations, units, and subunits involved in practical activities were clarified, and issues of interoperability among special forces units, communications units, tank units, mechanized units, and artillery units during training combat actions were addressed.
The air defense units' reconnaissance and target designation stations involved in the exercise carried out continuous airspace reconnaissance. The data collected was analyzed and transmitted to command control points and interacting units. Combat crews ensured airspace safety by destroying an imaginary aerial enemy operating under intense active and passive interference at various altitudes.
During the exercise, rocket and artillery formations, units, and subunits used data from unmanned aerial vehicles and military reconnaissance equipment to detect and destroy the imaginary enemy with precise strikes. Special forces performed various reconnaissance tasks deep within enemy territory and in challenging mountainous and wooded areas. With the fire support of artillery units, the special forces attacked and captured key facilities of the imaginary enemy. All set objectives were achieved during the exercise, which aimed to improve commanders' operational decision-making skills, the interoperability between headquarters, and their ability to fulfill combat missions under difficult conditions.
