On February 15, Paweł Herczyński, the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, emphasized the importance of inclusiveness and constructive engagement from both the government and the opposition, as well as the active participation of civil society, in working towards Georgia's progress on the path to EU membership. 

Herczyński underscored the necessity for national unity in addressing the nine steps outlined by the European Union, which are crucial for Georgia's advancement towards EU accession negotiations. He expressed optimism that efforts to implement the nine steps would continue despite the focus on the ongoing election campaign. Herczyński highlighted an upcoming significant meeting in Brussels involving Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, where discussions on future steps will take place.

The ambassador stressed the importance of Georgia's commitment to serious reforms and the need for a dedicated approach to move forward swiftly in the accession process. He reiterated the EU's readiness to support Georgia but emphasized that the primary responsibility lies with Georgia itself. Herczyński underscored the government's commitment to facilitate the participation of all civil society organizations in legislative and decision-making processes. He acknowledged Georgia's vibrant civil society landscape, comprising diverse organizations focusing on various issues. The ambassador noted the positive development of discussions among the government, opposition, and civil society, particularly within the Civil Society Platform of the Eastern Partnership framework. However, he mentioned that certain developments led some prominent civil organizations to withdraw from the platform.
