In response to Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's appeal regarding their country's territorial integrity, the ruling Georgian Dream party stated that they aim to peacefully resolve the settlement issues with the separatist regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia rather than through military means.

Beka Odisharia, the head of the Georgian parliament's committee on Caucasus issues, said Georgia has a peace plan that first implies restoring contacts with Abkhazians and Ossetians and then resolving territorial issues. "We are looking for ways to hearts. Georgians, Abkhazians, and Ossetians should coexist peacefully," he added. Odisharia wished to the people of Ukraine that the Ukrainian authorities first solve their own problems to restore territorial integrity.

Irakli Kadagishvili, another Georgian Dream member, welcomed Zelenskyy's concern for Georgia's territorial integrity but emphasized that Tbilisi would only do so peacefully. "Georgia does not link the issue of restoring territorial integrity to any military action. War destroys, not restores," he noted.

As previously reported by Caucasus Watch, in a remote speech at the summit of the participating states of the Joint Expeditionary Force taking place in Sweden on October 13, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, "Thanks to our defense against Russia's aggression, new prospects will open up for Georgia to restore its territorial integrity."
