Leader of European Georgia: "United National Movement Has Become Force Where Neither Principles Nor Values Matter"
On November 21, Giga Bokeria, the head of European Georgia, said that principles and morals are no longer important in the United National Movement. According to him, the debate centers on who is more devoted to Saakashvili.
Giga Bokeria responded that it makes no difference whether he works with Levan Khabeishvili of the United National Movement or Nika Melia, the Chair of the party, because the team's culture and the game's rules are the products of the efforts of all the members of the United National Movement, including Melia and Khabeishvili.
According to Giga Bokeria, half of this team decided that to fight against Ivanishvili, they should become like Ivanishvili's [former Prime Minister of Georgia] team in terms of populism, in terms of slinging mud at each other.
He noted, "Mikheil Saakashvili, Georgia's third president, does not anticipate that President Salome Zourabichvili would pardon him." According to Bokeria, Salome Zourabichvili is a product of Bidzina Ivanishvili's administration. "Although I have no personal animosity or motivation to oppose Zourabichvili, I do see her as a product of the Ivanishvili administration. She is ignorant of the meaning of a tool pardon," he stated.
He claimed that the government should not permit a shocking outcome in the Mikheil Saakashvili case. "As a citizen of this nation, I would be happy if they prevented a dramatic outcome out of self-interest. Ivanishvili is pleased with the circumstances as they stand right now. He has the chance to show off his strength here," the head of European Georgia concluded.
